Embracing Growth: Our Rebrand Story

Over the past few years, our work at Mango Grove Psychotherapy (formerly known as Risha Dave Psychotherapy) has been rooted in one core belief: healing is something we can reclaim for ourselves, our families, and our communities.

As we’ve grown, it became clear that our visual identity, our language, and the way we show up in the world needed to grow too. We wanted the outside to reflect the depth, heart, and vision we carry inside. That’s why we decided it was time for a rebrand.

We wanted to create something that is inviting, playful, and empowering.

Why We Rebranded

Over the years, I’ve (Risha) had the privilege of sitting with clients through moments of deep transformation. I’ve seen what happens when someone finally feels safe enough to be seen, when they find language for experiences they’ve carried alone, or when they reconnect with a part of themselves they thought was lost.

That’s what this rebrand represents: a fuller, truer reflection of who we are and what we stand for. We wanted our presence to mirror the safe, warm, and empowering spaces we create in therapy.

Why “Mango Grove”?

Choosing a name felt like choosing a home for our work. We had to choose a name that would hold the essence of who we are and what we want to offer.

For many of us from South Asian backgrounds, the mango tree is a symbol of sweetness, abundance, and connection. In our samaaj or towns, mango groves are places where people can gather under the shade, share stories, rest, and find respite from the heat. They are spaces of community, nourishment, and intergenerational memory.

The grove represents something more: many trees standing together, thriving together. It’s about collective care, shared healing, and the understanding that we are stronger when we grow alongside others.

In naming our practice Mango Grove Psychotherapy, we are honouring the deep roots of our cultural heritage while creating a space that welcomes everyone - no matter their background - into that same feeling of warmth, belonging, and restoration.

What This Means to Me

This new chapter is deeply personal to me.
It’s the culmination of my journey as a therapist, a South Asian woman, and someone who has witnessed firsthand the impact of intergenerational stories on our well-being. The updated look, language, and tone are all infused with the cultural nuance, compassion, and grounded strength that guide our work every single day.

It’s also a reminder that growth doesn’t mean that we are leaving behind where we came from. Instead, it means that we are honouring our roots while creating space for what’s possible.

Our Mission & Values

At the heart of our work is a mission to help folks, especially those from South Asian and other racialized communities, find balance between cultural expectations and personal values.

We believe in:

  • Culturally attuned care – Healing is most powerful when it acknowledges your story, your heritage, and your lived experiences.

  • Trauma-informed practices – Safety, trust, and empowerment are the foundation of every session.

  • Breaking intergenerational cycles – We support clients in redefining patterns, boundaries, and narratives passed down through generations.

  • Community and connection – Healing doesn’t happen in isolation. We value collective growth and solidarity.

  • Integrity and compassion – Every decision, from how we run our practice to how we engage with our clients, is rooted in empathy and respect.

Looking Ahead

Our work remains the same: to walk alongside you in your healing journey, offering tools, insight, and care that honour both your past and your future.

I’m so grateful for the trust you’ve placed in us, and I can’t wait to share this new chapter with you.

Here’s to growth, to community, and to creating spaces where we can all be fully ourselves!
